Sustainability begins with people, and it forms an integral part of internal operations at ASSA ABLOY.

At ASSA ABLOY, sustainability is integrated into all business processes: manufacturing, product development and sourcing, logistics and even sales. On an individual level, we encourage employees worldwide to adhere to a sustainable habit by reducing their carbon footprints at work. Our endeavor to shape a better future is based on the following.

The Very Green Book

Implemented into ASSA ABLOY's everyday life from top to bottom, this green concept appears in our building design, operation, and design criteria outlined in our Sustainability Compass, launched in 2015. The compass is used to outline the sustainability vision for individual products and includes eight life-cycle dimensions or focus areas: cost, raw materials, water, energy in use, carbon footprint, reuse, recycled content, and recyclability. Code of Conduct

ASSA ABLOY looks to the future with growing confidence to attain long-term sustainability. Business ethics, communication, human rights and labor standards, environment and health and safety all fall into this context. Based on the international standards and guidelines, ASSA ABLOY has set out a Code of Conduct for all of our employees, with a Business Partner edition to guide our external stakeholders' practice.

The standards have taken references from UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and connected UN Conventions, ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy, OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, UN Global Compact, and ISO 14001.
